"COLORFUL CRYSTALS"
Natural Science/ Art lesson intended for Grades 3-6
I create lessons that are multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse. Art history, criticism, aesthetics and art-making are integral to every lesson. The lesson plans below are examples of the hands-on, activity-oriented instruction that I believe will help students gain confidence and appreciation for art. For examples of plans for other grades, feel free to email me at mustachioj1@gmail.com
MINI ACTIVITIES
The mini activities below are designed to provide meaningful opportunities in art within a 45 minute to a one hour class period. These activities are still crafted to meet the state requirements, meet the needs of diverse learners, and are intended to introduce students to the four areas essential to a comprehensive art education: art criticism, aesthetics, are making, and art history. "Seeing With Your Hands" is an activity where students first draw a mystery object in a paper bag only from the sense of touch. Then the object is revealed and students draw it again as a still life. Comparisons reveal surprising abilities to students . Intended for middle and high school students.
